FORTY is a film and art installation retrospect that celebrates 40 years of TBWA.
We wanted to look back at a few pieces of iconic work that has helped define the company - the campaign that made ABSOLUT famous, Apple's 1984 Super Bowl spot, Nelson Mandela's first ANC election campaign, the SHIFT_ campaign that relaunched Nissan to the world and many other pieces of breakthrough work throughout the globe.
We decided to collaborate with a well-known street artist named WK and asked him to interpret the work through his own unique style.
We set up an 8ft X 36ft canvas in an empty warehouse and set him and his two assistants loose.
What resulted was a short film and an original art piece that is now living in TBWA's New York office.
Please enjoy the film to the right. We've also included behind the scenes photographs and short bios on the artist and the very talented musician we chose to use as the music track.
In the words of Lee Clow, "Make it smart. Make it beautiful. Have fun."
